The Opportunity

A leading Main Contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a major project in Birmingham.

With an M&E package value of circa 50m , this is a major project offering an excellent opportunity to work across both pre-construction and project delivery .

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the commercial performance of the M&E package, working closely with the project, design, procurement and wider commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of the 50m M&E package.
• Support the project through pre-construction and delivery phases.
• Manage procurement, subcontract accounts, valuations and payments.
• Manage variations, change control and commercial risk.
• Prepare and maintain accurate cost reports and forecasts.
• Work closely with M&E Project Managers, Design Managers and the wider commercial team.
• Manage and negotiate with M&E subcontractors and suppliers.
• Support contract administration and ensure commercial procedures are followed.
• Assist with the preparation and agreement of final accounts.
• Identify commercial opportunities and minimise project risk.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working for a Main Contractor .
• Strong M&E Quantity Surveying experience.
• Experience working on major M&E projects/packages .
• Experience across both pre-construction and delivery .
• Strong understanding of M&E subcontract procurement and commercial management.
• Experience managing significant subcontract packages and commercial risk.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
