Birmingham | Up to 55,000
Ready to take your project management career up a gear?
If you're an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager looking for more ownership, greater client exposure and the opportunity to make a genuine impact, this could be the move for you.
We're working with a growing, independent construction consultancy that's building something different. Away from the layers and limitations of traditional corporates, the business has created a genuinely collaborative, people-first environment where ambitious professionals are trusted to take ownership and have a clear platform to progress.
With an exciting pipeline of work spanning highways, transport, regeneration, healthcare, education and the public sector, you'll have the chance to work across a diverse range of infrastructure schemes while playing an important role in the continued growth of the Birmingham team.
This is more than simply delivering projects. You'll have the opportunity to build client relationships, influence project strategy and help shape the way the consultancy grows.
The Opportunity
As an Infrastructure Project Manager, you'll take the lead on projects from early feasibility and inception through to completion and handover.
You'll work closely with clients, consultants, contractors and wider stakeholders, providing strong project leadership and ensuring schemes are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading infrastructure projects from feasibility through to completion and handover.
- Taking ownership of programme, cost, quality, risk and overall project performance.
- Acting as a trusted point of contact for clients and building strong, long-term relationships.
- Coordinating multidisciplinary teams, including designers, contractors, cost consultants and other stakeholders.
- Developing and managing project programmes, governance processes and reporting.
- Leading project meetings, workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions.
- Supporting procurement strategies, tender processes and contractor appointments.
- Managing risk, opportunities, change control and project reporting.
- Ensuring projects comply with CDM, health & safety requirements and client governance procedures.
- Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues as the Project Management team continues to grow.
What We're Looking For
We're keen to speak with Project Managers who have a strong background in infrastructure and are ready to take on greater responsibility.
You'll ideally have:
- A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a relevant construction-related discipline.
- Proven experience delivering infrastructure projects, ideally within highways, transport or related sectors.
- Consultancy or client-side project management experience.
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts; JCT experience would also be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and stakeholders effectively.
- Working towards or already holding APM, RICS, ICE or equivalent chartered status would be advantageous.
- A proactive, commercial and collaborative approach, with a genuine interest in delivering high-quality projects.
Why Join?
You'll be joining a consultancy where your contribution is visible and valued.
In addition to a competitive salary of up to 55,000, you'll receive:
- Private healthcare.
- Company pension contribution.
- Paid professional memberships.
- Full support towards chartership and professional development.
- Parking provided.
- Travel expenses covered for local office and site travel.
- Electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme.
- Clear progression opportunities within an ambitious and expanding Project Management team.
- A genuinely supportive and collaborative working environment.
