Overview

In this Consultant Haematologist role at University Hospital Lewisham you will help develop a high-quality haemato-oncology and general haematology service within a busy NHS trust. You will contribute to clinical leadership as the department undergoes service transformations and expansion of treatment capacity. The post offers cross-site collaboration, teaching, and involvement in governance and audit to maintain high standards. Responsibilities

Share responsibility for running the Haematology service across clinical and laboratory settings
Provide General Haematology and Haemato-Oncology care, including inpatient and laboratory workload
Participate in on-call rota (1:5) and cross-cover at other sites as required
Contribute to clinical governance, audit, and continuous quality improvement
Engage in teaching and training of junior doctors, students, and laboratory staff
Take part in departmental and Trust managerial duties and annual appraisal/revalidation
Support service transformations and expansion plans, including new care pathways
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external network partners

Key requirements

MBBS or equivalent
MRCP or equivalent
FRCPath or equivalent
Full and Specialist GMC registration (or eligible within six months of interview)
UK-trained applicants: CCT or within six months of award; non-UK: evidence of UK-equivalent CCT
Experience in clinical and laboratory haematology with adult service delivery
Strong teaching, audit, and leadership abilities
