Mammographer

Overview

In this role you will train as a Mammographer within the North Cumbria Breast Imaging Unit, supporting both screening and symptomatic services. You will work across two sites as part of a multidisciplinary team, with a pathway to complete a PgC in Mammography and progress to Band 6. The post combines on-site training at CIC with cross-site duties upon certificate, contributing to a rural NHS breast program. This is a development-focused opportunity in a supportive environment with specialist colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Provide screening and symptomatic breast imaging as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Gain extensive experience in breast imaging with support from the existing team
• Complete PgC in Mammography and progress from Band 5 to Band 6 on successful completion
• Work at West Cumberland Hospital with potential cross-site duties at Cumberland Infirmary
• Potential travel between sites to cover service needs

Key requirements

• HCPC registration in Diagnostic Radiography
• BSc Radiography or equivalent
• Postgraduate qualification in Mammographic practice (Masters level)
• Experience in radiography and breast imaging (as part of essential criteria)
• Good command of English and numeracy
