Management Accountant

Overview

In this Bristol-based role you will own management reporting within a growing technology business and help translate numbers into business insight. You will produce monthly management accounts and manage key month-end tasks, including journals, accruals and prepayments, while supporting budgeting and forecasting. You’ll deliver insightful variance analysis, partner with stakeholders, and support cash flow analysis and year-end activity. This role offers a hands-on, commercially minded opportunity to shape the finance function in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Producing accurate and timely monthly management accounts
• Managing month-end processes including journals, accruals and prepayments
• Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
• Providing insightful variance analysis and commentary
• Partnering with stakeholders to help them understand performance and financial results
• Supporting cash flow reporting and financial analysis
• Identifying opportunities to improve reporting, controls and finance processes
• Supporting year-end reporting and external audit requirements
• Contributing to wider finance projects as the business grows

Key requirements

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
• Strong management accounting and month-end experience
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to turn financial data into meaningful insight
• Strong Excel and financial systems experience
• Confident communication and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive, commercially minded approach
• Someone comfortable working within a fast-moving and changing environment
