In this role you will provide guidance and case management for employee relations across associates and leaders, ensuring compliant and consistent handling of ER matters. You will liaise with the Life Sciences Platform, operating companies, works councils, and the COE to mitigate risk and improve organizational effectiveness. You’ll lead investigations, performance actions, and grievance processes while shaping ER policies and tools. This role offers impact at scale within a global biotech culture that values continuous improvement. You will contribute to translating complex employment law into practical, risk-aware actions that support business objectives.
Responsibilities
Guide HR and leaders on employee relations and ensure policy and legal compliance
Manage ER cases, including workforce reductions and organizational changes with works councils
Own and support performance improvement, disciplinary actions, and grievances
Develop, implement, and maintain ER policies, procedures, and toolkits
Act as liaison with the LER COE and relevant legal teams; maintain case data and reporting
Analyze trends in ER data to mitigate risk and improve effectiveness
Key requirements
Bachelor's degree, J.D. or equivalent combination of education and experience
10+ years in Labor and Employee Relations, HRBP, Employment Law, or related field
Experience managing ER cases, investigations, performance management, disciplinary matters, grievances, and workforce reductions
Experience in a unionized environment or with works councils
Working knowledge of applicable employment laws in relevant jurisdictions
