Overview

You will lead the safe, on-time delivery of civils and electrical works for a 132kV substation project near Harrogate. You will work with cross-functional teams to manage programme progress, quality, and risk across disciplines. The role combines site leadership with strict safety and regulatory compliance in a high-voltage environment. This is an impactful contract opportunity to shape delivery on a major HV/ICP project with close stakeholder collaboration. You will play a key part in ensuring safe, professional, and compliant site execution.

Responsibilities

Own and manage the construction programme and ensure safe site delivery
Coordinate civils and electrical construction activities across disciplines
Provide programme updates with planners and report progress
Oversee quality processes including ITPs, progress records, hold points and inspections
Interpret drawings, communicate technical details, and resolve queries with project/design teams
Identify and communicate risks, issues and progress with PM, Engineering and Commercial teams
Manage health and safety risks, ensure CDM compliance, and maintain CPPs, RAMS, permits and POWRA
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams to deliver work to required standards

Key requirements

Demonstrable experience delivering EHV/HV schemes at 132kV or 66kV
Experience in ICP, private network or DNO projects preferred; transferable experience considered
Primary civils or electrical background with practical experience in secondary discipline on multi-disciplinary schemes
Strong understanding of substation construction and transmission/distribution project requirements
SMSTS qualification
CSCS or ECS card
CDM 2015 regulations competence
IOSH training desirable; familiarity with Northern Powergrid DNO competencies advantageous
