Finance Transformation Manager (CFO Solutions)

In this role, you will help finance teams transform controllership and close processes, leveraging automation to deliver faster, more confident reporting. You’ll work with senior finance leaders and cross-functional colleagues to design and deliver improvements across the close, reconciliation, and reporting processes. Responsibilities

• Lead and manage workstreams and client relationships on controllership and financial close transformation engagements
• Manage engagement budgets and timelines, ensuring quality, risk, and compliance
• Support diagnostic analysis and the end-to-end implementation of improvements to close calendars, reconciliation frameworks, and workflows
• Support technology implementations for close automation tools (FloQast, OneStream, Prophix) including requirements, configuration, testing and user adoption
• Develop process documentation, policy frameworks and training materials to embed change in client finance teams
• Build day-to-day relationships with client finance teams as a trusted point of contact
• Contribute to practice development initiatives (business development, marketing, toolkit improvements) and carve a niche over time
• Demonstrate collaboration across Consulting and wider Grant Thornton to bring relevant capabilities to clients
• Grow internal and external networks to broaden opportunity generation
• Use empathy and root-cause analysis to translate issues into compelling client propositions

Key requirements

• Professional qualification (ACA, ICAS, CA, ACCA, CIMA, or CIPFA) with post-qualification experience
• Genuine interest in finance transformation and the role of technology in controllership and close processes
• Confidence engaging with senior finance stakeholders and managing expectations effectively
• Background in Finance Consulting, External Audit, or line finance roles focused on close, reporting, or controls
• Experience in close automation or EPM technologies (FloQast, OneStream, Prophix, BlackLine, or similar)
• Experience leading workstreams or small teams and a desire to grow as a people leader
• Ability to use framework- and methodology-driven approaches to identify root causes and deliver solutions
• Track record of applying digital and analytical skills in a finance context
