Data Analyst

Overview

In this role you will support the design, development and optimisation of data pipelines and data solutions for a leading bank. You will work within a hybrid, on-site model across Edinburgh or London, collaborating with technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver reliable data products. You will apply SQL, ETL and data engineering skills to automate processes, ensure data quality and enable informed decision-making. This is a hands-on, impact-focused role with a strong emphasis on governance and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise data pipelines and automate manual processes
• Deliver ETL technical design and data integration
• Perform data quality testing, cleansing, validation and monitoring
• Develop and maintain data models and warehousing solutions
• Identify, source and explore new datasets for analytics
• Support streaming data ingestion and transformation
• Promote continuous improvement through automation and best practices
• Engage with technical teams, business users and senior stakeholders

Key requirements

• Strong SQL expertise with complex querying and optimisation
• Proven ETL experience including pipeline development and data integration
• Experience in data quality testing, cleansing, monitoring and validation
• Solid understanding of data warehousing, data modelling and data engineering
• Experience automating data pipelines and reducing manual processing
• Knowledge of modern software development practices, version control and testing
• Experience in governed or regulated environments
