Banking Principal / Senior Associate

Overview

In this role you will join Shoosmiths’ market-leading Energy and Infrastructure sector group within Banking and Finance in London. You’ll work across the full transaction lifecycle, from early structuring to financial close, on assets like renewables, digital infrastructure, and telecoms. You’ll draft and negotiate facilities documents, manage intercreditor arrangements, and collaborate with multiple teams to provide integrated client service. There are clear opportunities to assume matter responsibility, engage directly with clients, and pursue progression aligned with the firm’s sector goals. Responsibilities

• Focus on energy and infrastructure finance transactions across the lifecycle, from structuring to close
• Draft and negotiate facilities agreements and security documents
• Negotiate intercreditor arrangements
• Work with corporate, commercial, real estate, and restructuring teams and overseas lawyers as needed
• Maintain direct client engagement and matter responsibility
• Participate in client development initiatives within the energy and infrastructure sector
• Support cross-functional collaboration to deliver integrated services to lenders, borrowers, sponsors, and corporates

Key requirements

• 4 years PQE
• strong bank debt finance experience with energy and infrastructure focus
• experience liaising with lenders, borrowers, intermediaries and/or investors across the transaction lifecycle
