Risk Analytics & Digital Analyst

Overview

In this role you will help manage market and commodity risk across Supply & Trading, partnering with global teams to deliver accurate risk reporting and insights. You will drive digital improvements in analytics, dashboards, and automation to enhance decision-making and risk visibility. Based in London with hybrid work, you will interact with senior leaders to shape risk strategies and ensure effective controls.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent risk oversight and timely risk reporting across trading portfolios
• Monitor mark-to-market P&L, exposures, and VaR against limits
• Model and advise on market risk profiles from trade to portfolio level (VaR stress, scenario analysis)
• Ensure adherence to risk policies, escalate breaches, and propose mitigations
• Serve as market risk advisor to trading teams and stakeholders
• Collaborate across front, middle, compliance and IT to strengthen controls
• Align risk analytics with GARM environment, ETRM platforms, data architecture and reporting
• Design interactive dashboards and visualizations to enhance risk transparency
• Develop automation to streamline reporting and reduce manual processes
• Mentor digital tools and analytics within the risk organization
• Drive continuous improvement of risk reporting processes through innovation

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Relevant experience in market risk management, commodity trading, or financial analysis
• Strong understanding of commodity markets, trading lifecycle, and risk metrics (VaR, P&L, exposure)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex datasets
• Experience with data analysis and programming tools (Excel, SQL, Python)
• Ability to communicate complex risk concepts clearly to stakeholders
