Senior Director, Medical Strategy Lead - Rheumatology (m/w/d)

Overview

In this role you guide strategic medical and scientific expertise across a therapeutic area, supporting early engagement with clients and shaping RFP responses. You lead and contribute as a medical director and SME through the research and development lifecycle, including clinical trials, and may operate as an independent customer solution. You collaborate across the organization to maximize IQVIA resources and contribute to thought leadership. You will influence the Center of Excellence and help scale strategic activities within a global team.

Responsibilities

• Work independently of the therapeutic area head to steer strategy
• Lead strategic proposal development with the proposal team
• Represent as medical director in client proposal bid defense meetings
• Act as consultant throughout the R&D lifecycle and trials, or as an independent solution
• Formulate clinical development plans and drive the Center of Excellence strategy
• Collaborate across the organization to leverage resources for opportunities

Key requirements

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
• Requires exceptional business knowledge to drive organizational results
• At least 5 years in the pharmaceutical industry or a CRO setting
• CRO background with senior strategic leadership and Rheumatology expertise
• Terminal degree (MD) with training in Rheumatology
• Board Certified – Rheumatology
