Neurophysiology Consultant

Overview

Join the Neurology service at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust as a Consultant Neurophysiologist. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered neurophysiology services, including regular EMG, EEG and evoked potential reporting, with opportunities for teaching, governance involvement and service development. Responsibilities

• Perform regular EMG clinics, EEG reporting and evoked potential reporting at Hertford County Hospital
• Occasional inpatient EMG at Lister Hospital
• Support day-to-day service management and participate in strategic planning
• Teach and train within the multidisciplinary service
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and clinical governance activities
• Engage in continuing medical education and service improvement initiatives

Key requirements

• GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at interview, or GMC eligibility for entry on Specialist Register/Full GMC registration
• MRCP or equivalent qualification
• Evidence of up-to-date practice and training needs awareness
• Broad neurophysiology experience; ability to provide independent diagnostic opinions
• Experience in patient safety improvement and quality initiatives
• Desirable: ALS or equivalent qualification; postgraduate degree; consultant-level experience; research/publications
