Credit Controller

Overview

In this permanent Credit Controller role based in Coventry, you will manage customer accounts to ensure timely payments, assess credit risk, and maintain accurate reports. You will liaise with clients and internal teams to resolve overdue invoices, set up new accounts with credit checks, and support month-end processes. The role sits within the industrial/manufacturing sector and requires proactive organisation and strong numerical skills. You will contribute to cash collection and risk management while developing within the sector.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer accounts to ensure timely payments
• Monitor and assess credit risks and ensure policy compliance
• Follow up on overdue invoices and payment plans with clients
• Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies
• Prepare and maintain credit control reports
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing or account queries
• Assist with setting up new customer accounts including credit checks
• Support month-end and year-end financial processes as required

Key requirements

• Experience in credit control or similar accounting role in the industrial/manufacturing sector
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and internal teams
• Proactive and organised approach to workload management
