Operational Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead the Community Mental Health Team, shaping the future of a transforming service. You will work within a triage leadership structure to ensure safe, effective, and person-centred care for a defined population. You’ll drive partnerships with VSCE, social care and primary care to streamline access and journeys for service users and carers. You will manage complex operational and clinical information, investigations and learning from incidents. This is a chance to lead change and deliver continuous service improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate leadership to a multidisciplinary team and foster a culture of high care standards and continuous improvement
• Lead and support staff to achieve service objectives with empowerment to deliver safe, person-centred care
• Line management, supervision, appraisal, performance management and development planning
• Lead workforce planning to ensure required skills and capacity
• Promote staff wellbeing, engagement and retention through proactive leadership
• Manage complex people management issues in partnership with HR
• Support learning and reflection from incidents, complaints and reviews
• Lead change within the service during transformation programmes and organisational developments
• Foster multidisciplinary and multi-agency partnerships to improve outcomes for service users and carers
• Deputise for the Service Manager and represent the service in meetings
• Oversee safeguarding compliance and policy implementation
• Share responsibility for RTT pathways and waiting list management
• Accountable for budget, workforce and resource management including recruitment and development

Key requirements

• Professional qualification holder with 3 years of experience
• Clinical experience in Adult Mental Health Community Services
• Clinical or Operational leadership experience
• UK professional registration
• Disclosure and Barring Service check requirement
• Suitable for skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK
