Probate Solicitor - Private Client

Overview

In this role you will handle a broad probate and private client caseload from Taunton, delivering high-quality advice on wills, trusts, and estate planning while maintaining strict regulatory standards. You will work closely with executors, beneficiaries, and HMRC, contributing to business development and long-term client relationships. Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of probate and estate administration end-to-end
• Advise on wills, trusts, powers of attorney, inheritance tax, and intestacy
• Draft and review wills and trust deeds
• Liaise with executors, beneficiaries, HMRC, and stakeholders
• Prepare applications for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration
• Ensure compliance with legislation and SRA standards
• Deliver high-quality client care and foster strong relationships
• Support business development and networking initiatives

Key requirements

• Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales (ideally 3+ years PQE, but all levels considered)
• Solid experience in probate and estate administration
• Excellent communication and client-handling skills
• Strong attention to detail and organisation skills
• Confidence working independently and managing deadlines
• STEP qualification (or working towards) is a plus
