Overview

In this role you will drive casualty pricing, portfolio management and strategic planning within a global insurer. You will partner with underwriters and senior stakeholders to monitor performance, identify trends and shape strategies that improve underwriting results. You’ll deliver profitability studies, performance reviews, dashboards and pricing adequacy monitoring, while supporting capital modelling and reinsurance decisions. You lead a small team and collaborate across actuarial and analytics functions to enable automation and process improvement. This is a high-visibility role with a meaningful impact on pricing and risk strategy.

Responsibilities

Price large and complex accounts, facilities and binders
Manage portfolio performance and profitability studies
Produce quarterly performance reviews and dashboards
Monitor renewal-rate and pricing-adequacy; analyse inflation effects
Parameterise underwriting-risk distributions for capital modelling
Develop experience-rating tools and calibrate exposure-rating models
Support reinsurance decisions and longer-term planning
Lead one direct report and coordinate offshore analyst work
Collaborate to share knowledge, drive automation and process improvements

Key requirements

FIA with at least two years post-qualification experience
Casualty pricing and portfolio management experience preferred
Strong knowledge of commercial insurance and long-tail specialty risks
Expertise in case pricing, rating-tool development, loss modelling and statistical analysis
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong systems and data-management capability
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Experience with at least two tools/languages (R, SQL, Python, ResQ, Radar, VBA, Qlik, Power Query, Databricks)
Ability to apply AI to improve processes
