Overview

In this hybrid role, you will advise Marsh clients on defenses against legal action and regulatory liabilities, focusing on casualty and employment matters. You’ll upskill client teams, stress-test current practices, and lead training including Mock Trials to strengthen leadership readiness. You’ll collaborate across Risk Consulting on crisis simulations and help grow a novel employment defence proposition. If you’re entrepreneurial, you’ll market services and build client relationships within Marsh’s extensive network.

Responsibilities

Advise senior management on legal responsibilities and liabilities to defend the business
Conduct detailed reviews of client practices and test their defense capabilities, reporting findings to leadership
Deliver training and simulations (eg Mock Trials/Mock Tribunals) to upskill executives and stakeholders
Prepare senior leaders and witnesses for court and tribunal appearances
Collaborate with Risk Consulting on crisis management exercises to provide legal context
Develop client relationships and market Marsh services to generate new revenue
Coordinate with broader Marsh teams to improve understanding of the legal landscape
Manage own diary and projects to maintain balance and flexibility

Key requirements

Qualified solicitor, legal executive or barrister in England, Wales, Scotland or Republic of Ireland
Experience in bringing and/or defending personal injury claims (Casualty)
Experience in defending Health & Safety Prosecutions (Casualty)
Experience in bringing and/or defending employment claims and/or providing non-contentious employment law advice (Employment)
Comfort presenting to large groups and handling ad-hoc technical questions
