HSEQ Officer

Overview

In this role you will support Northern Marine’s HSEQ management system, ensuring quality, safety and environmental documentation is accurate and up-to-date. You will work across HSEQ, operations and vessels to maintain records, support audits, and drive improvements within a maritime compliance framework. The position offers exposure to a formal management system and opportunities to contribute to continuous development. You will join a collaborative team focused on timely, accurate documentation and issue resolution in a maritime context.

Responsibilities

• Produce and supply safety, environmental and quality documentation
• Maintain controlled copies of HSEQ documentation
• Assist with documentation amendments and revisions
• Provide an audit function for office audits
• Collate and issue responses to vessel minutes and reviews
• Maintain the archive and storage area
• Collaborate with HSEQ, Operations, vessels and wider team
• Support issue resolution via fact-finding and procedures
• Adapt communication style for colleagues and international teams
• Perform other duties as required by Senior Management
• Participate as a Casualty Response Team member
• Occasional travel may be required

Key requirements

• Previous HSEQ experience (preferred)
• Marine background
• Experience as a Quality Officer or Quality Assurance role
• Strong database management skills
• Good organisational, analytical and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Proven ability to meet targets and deadlines
• Practical and collaborative problem-solving approach
