Junior Middle Office Analyst

Overview

In this role you will support Moneyfarm’s trading activities and middle-office operations as part of a growing team. You will assist on order routing, execution, and settlement for discretionary and execution-only channels, while ensuring accurate reconciliations and smooth daily operations. You will work closely with traders, back-office, and external counterparties to maintain high execution quality and operational risk controls. The position offers exposure to automation, data analysis, and a fast-paced fintech environment with impact on client outcomes and firm growth.

Responsibilities

• Assist with order routing, monitoring, and execution across DPM and XO lines
• Provide trading desk coverage during holidays and peak windows
• Prepare Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) reports and board packs for Best Execution Committee
• Support ad-hoc reporting for internal and external stakeholders
• Assist setup and onboarding for new financial products
• Utilize Python and SQL tools to monitor trading activity and resolve inquiries
• Maintain daily communication with market counterparties, brokers, and custodians
• Facilitate daily trade matching, affirmation, and settlement instructions to custodians
• Execute daily treasury operations, including payments and liquidity transfers
• Investigate and resolve cash, stock, and position reconciliation breaks
• Monitor trade settlement status and liaise to resolve failed trades
• Track corporate actions for position adjustments
• Assist back-office teams with trade-related calculations and adjustments

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in quantitative, scientific, or financial discipline
• Good understanding of financial markets
• Good knowledge of ETFs
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Working knowledge of Python and SQL
• Exposure to financial market data terminals (Bloomberg Terminal or Refinitiv/Eikon) advantageous
• Exceptional attention to detail and operational risk awareness
• Strong numerical aptitude and logical problem-solving
• Clear communication across front, middle, and back-office teams
• Proactive interest in automating operational workflows using scripting
• Fluent in English
• Based in Milan or London
