Overview

In this role you will lead the delivery of private client tax advisory, writing reports and guiding client discussions for high net worth individuals. You’ll manage a team delivering day-to-day private client services and act as the primary client contact. The position is client-facing in the West End, requiring clear, credible communication and strong technical capability. You’ll drive efficiency and mentor the team while contributing to the growth of the private client offering.

Responsibilities

Support partners and directors in team operations and winning new work
Manage a diverse client portfolio with varying income sources
Drive technical advisory work and oversee delivery on the portfolio
Handle one-off advisory and compliance assignments
Act as key client contact and liaise with high net worth individuals and partnerships
Oversee UK tax return filing for a broad client base
Monitor progress against targets and contribute to staff appraisals
Develop team members' skills and focus on personal development
Suggest and implement efficiency improvements within the team
Produce high-quality written work
Maintain strong relationship management and provide practical advice

Key requirements

CTA qualified (or equivalent) with extensive private client tax experience
Deep knowledge of UK private client tax, including personal tax planning, anti-avoidance, and inheritance tax
Experience advising high net worth individuals, business owners, trusts and estates
Proven ability to deliver compliance and advisory projects, including report writing
Experience dealing with HMRC on complex enquiries, investigations, settlements, and negotiations
Strong understanding of Self-Assessment, tax computations, and private client tax compliance
Ability to build trusted client relationships and provide commercially focused advice
Experience managing, coaching, and reviewing junior staff
