Programme Manager

Overview

As Programme Manager in defence, you will oversee multiple concurrent projects, coordinating with engineering teams, Project Managers and customers to ensure delivery on time, within budget and to required quality standards. You will lead delivery teams, manage plans, risks, dependencies and milestones, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders. You’ll handle programme finances, including cost forecasting and budgeting, and support bids and new business activity. You will provide programme updates to senior stakeholders and contribute to delivery excellence within the defence engineering domain.

Responsibilities

• Leading and supporting Project Managers and delivery teams
• Managing programme plans, schedules, risks, dependencies and milestones
• Building strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders
• Overseeing programme finances, including cost forecasting, budgeting and financial performance
• Supporting bids, proposals and new business activity
• Managing resource requirements and delivery priorities
• Providing programme updates to senior stakeholders

Key requirements

• Proven Programme Management experience within defence, maritime or a complex engineering environment
• Experience managing multiple technical projects simultaneously
• Strong customer, stakeholder and leadership skills
• Experience managing programme budgets, costs and delivery performance
• Excellent planning, communication and problem-solving skills
