Sessional Coach - Sussex

Overview

In this role you will deliver safe, inclusive coaching across core programmes for young players and participants. You will work with local clubs, schools, and organisations to grow engagement and outreach. You support the wider team and ensure compliance with policies, safeguarding, and safety standards. This is a community-facing position that helps shape positive youth development through football within Chelsea’s Foundation. You’ll be part of a mission-driven environment that values inclusion, teamwork, and high-quality delivery.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, inclusive, high-quality coaching across core programmes daily
• Engage with local youth clubs, schools, organisations, leisure centres, local authorities, and community partners
• Support wider team by sharing information and opportunities to enhance outreach delivery
• Adhere to legislation, Foundation policies, and safeguarding procedures
• Participate in Foundation activities as required by the role

Key requirements

• Minimum FA Introduction to Football Coaching qualification (Level 1 equivalent)
• In-date FA Safeguarding Children course & FA Introduction to First Aid in Football certificate
• Clean driving licence
• Enhanced DBS check
• Experience in community/grassroots sports as participant or coach
• Team player in a sporting environment
• Good communication and organisation skills
• Ability to organise and motivate team members
• Confident and outgoing personality

• Reliable and trustworthy
• Risk awareness and escalation of information
