Trial Vendor Associate Director

Overview

As a key member of the Clinical Trial Team, you will own vendor service delivery at the study level for global trials. You will partner with study teams, procurement, and vendors to ensure quality, timeliness, and cost control. The role involves overseeing site activation, UAT for eCOA and IRT, and tracking cycle times and risks to drive corrective actions. This position offers impact on trial execution and patient-focused outcomes within a mission-driven, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with study team leads and members throughout the study lifecycle
• Review vendor-related protocol sections during protocol development
• Manage vendor interfaces and support contract negotiations with procurement
• Oversee vendor cost control, budget reviews, invoice reconciliation, and PO close-out
• Ensure vendor service excellence and adherence to study-level quality standards
• Drive site activation, compile central documents, and address risks/issues during activation
• Conduct user-acceptance testing (UAT) for eCOA and IRT systems
• Monitor vendor-related cycle times and risks using tools like FIRST and implement corrective actions

Key requirements

• 5+ years of experience in clinical operations and vendor management
• Strong understanding of GxP and ICH regulations
• Solid knowledge of clinical trial design and alignment to supplier requirements
• Experience conducting UAT for eCOA and IRT systems
• Proven expertise in outsourcing, contracting, and sourcing clinical services
• Results-oriented with a track record of on-time project delivery
• Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional matrix environments
• Strong influencing, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
