EHS Officer

Overview

In this role you support business priorities by delivering practical EHS solutions and enabling safer operations on site. You work with the EHS Manager to coach supervisors, drive EHS initiatives, and manage key projects to strengthen compliance and safety culture. You help maintain Amcor standards, support audits, and implement the integrated management system across the site. You will partner with production, maintenance, and unions to foster a proactive safety environment and deliver measurable safety improvements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver EHS training to continuously raise co-worker knowledge and capability
• Coordinate and enhance EHS committee forums
• Assist in reviewing investments and machinery with project, maintenance, and operations managers
• Build relationships with production, safety, and union representatives to promote safety culture
• Maintain and improve compliance with Amcor standards and key priorities
• Support regulatory and Amcor systems, audits, reporting frameworks, and customer audits
• Implement EHS systems into the site Integrated Management System and ensure ongoing compliance
• Develop and deliver EHS awareness and development programmes from induction to senior management
• Contribute to behavioral safety initiatives and safety KPIs
• Lead site safety projects and support change management
• Improve EHS administration processes and provide cross-departmental Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental support
• Support delivery of the Strategic Safety Plan

Key requirements

• NEBOSH Occupational Health & Safety Diploma (optional)
• NEBOSH Environmental Certificate (optional)
• In-depth practical experience in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental
• Good IT skills

• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to influence and work through people
• Ability to inspire confidence and gain commitment across all levels
• EHS management and regulatory compliance
• Internal and external audit support
• Safety KPI development and reporting
