Overview

In this role you will be part of the breast surgery team at Darlington Memorial Hospital, supporting residents across the trust. You will work within a multidisciplinary framework to provide One Stop Clinics, elective surgery, and outpatient services. You will gain exposure to oncoplastic techniques and clinical management under senior consultants. You will contribute to audits, teaching, and service improvement while developing your surgical and leadership skills. This position offers wide clinical exposure, MDT collaboration, and a path toward progression within the department.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day care in the One Stop Clinic
• Assist in theatre and develop surgical skills with oncoplastic breast surgeons
• Participate in outpatient clinics (new and follow-up)
• Attend all operating and outpatient commitments with supervising Consultant
• Provide cover in emergencies and deputise for absent colleagues
• Participate in clinical audit projects within the Department
• Perform administrative duties in a timely fashion
• Participate in MDT and governance activities
• Follow up clinics and family history stream as experience allows

Key requirements

• Independent One Stop experience
• GMC Registered
• MBBS or Equivalent; MRCS or Equivalent
• Willingness to participate in a multi-disciplinary team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong teamwork and motivation
• Ability to travel as required
