Salaried GP

Overview

In this role you will provide high-quality GP care in a busy primary care setting, managing a caseload of registered and temporary patients. You will work within a supportive, community-focused practice, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care. You’ll handle a mix of consultations, home visits, and prescription management, contributing to continuous improvement and safe, evidence-based practice. This position offers flexible sessions and a family-friendly environment, with opportunities to influence patient care pathways and adopt innovative digital tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surgery and telephone consultations and address patient queries
• Manage home visits, repeat prescriptions, and related paperwork promptly
• Make autonomous clinical decisions for presenting problems in line with practice guidelines
• Assess undifferentiated health needs and develop care plans with patients
• Screen for disease risk factors and educate patients on health promotion
• Record clear consultation notes and collect data for audits
• Admit/discharge patients to/from caseload and refer to other providers as needed
• Prescribe using formulary (preferably through computer-generated prescriptions) and minimize handwritten prescriptions

Key requirements

• Full GMC registration and license to practice
• MRCGP or nMRCGP
• Eligible to work in the UK immediately
• Completed GP Registrar training
• On a GP Performers list
• Desirable: Certificate in Family Planning Services; other diplomas (e.g., DCH, DRCOG)
