Overview
In this role you will lead corporate transactions within a national firm, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and corporate governance, while collaborating with cross-office teams. You will mentor junior lawyers and contribute to strategic initiatives and thought leadership, as well as nurture client relationships and help grow the practice. The position blends transactional work with business development in a dynamic, client-facing environment. This is an opportunity to shape UK and international corporate matters in a supportive, team-oriented setting.
Responsibilities
- Handle mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt funding, and general corporate structuring work
- Collaborate with colleagues locally and nationally on a range of clients
- Mentor junior team members and work with the Birmingham partner on strategic initiatives
- Engage in business development and build client relationships to grow the practice
Key requirements
- 5 years'+ PQE in corporate law
- Lead role in some transactions; principal assistant on complex deals
- Solid foundation in M&A and corporate finance; working knowledge of debt finance
- Strong client management skills and interest in business development
- Team player who supports others and shares ideas for the benefit of the team
- Sector experience in healthcare beneficial but not essential
