Underwriter Level 1 - Construction Liability

Overview

In this role you will underwrite engineering and construction liability, promote Munich Re products, and manage an allocated portfolio to deliver agreed business plans. You’ll work with intermediaries and customers to make risk-based decisions within delegated authority, handling complex cases and ensuring service targets are met. You will contribute to underwriting strategy, portfolio management, and maintain high technical standards across the portfolio. You will represent Munich Re externally and help drive profitable, balanced growth in the construction liability space.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal business in line with guidelines and appetite
• Handle end-to-end cases for allocated portfolio with intermediaries/customers
• Make on-site decisions within delegated authority for efficiency
• Manage complex accounts with tailored risk solutions
• Plan and process own work to meet customer service and credit control targets
• Support development and implementation of underwriting strategy and portfolio management
• Deliver technical presentations and maintain underwriting standards across portfolio
• Develop strong relationships with intermediaries, customers, and internal teams
• Represent Munich Re externally to intermediaries and customers

Key requirements

• High level of construction liability underwriting knowledge
• Ability to interpret and use management information
