Estimator

Overview

In this role you will join a regional main contractor's commercial team in Sheffield as an Estimator. You will manage tenders from enquiry to handover on D&B and traditional contracts, developing budgets and cost estimates for bids. You will collaborate with surveyors on BoQ and rates, and present tender findings to drive winning submissions. The role offers clear progression within a supportive, process-driven environment that values commercial leadership. This is a hands-on role with impact across project tendering and settlement.

Responsibilities

• Attend tender presentations, contribute and lead commercially
• Prioritise all tenders and manage submission timelines
• Prepare cost budgets and cost estimates for contracts
• Ensure estimating processes are followed for tender submission
• Collaborate with surveyors on quantified schedules of rates and BoQ
• Prepare tender summaries and participate in start-up price meetings
• Assist in settlement meetings addressing risk, prelims and labour rates

Key requirements

• Experience as an Estimator in construction
• Experience handling tenders from enquiry to handover
• Familiarity with D&B and traditional contract forms
• Strong cost budgeting and estimation skills
• Ability to prepare tender summaries and attend price meetings
