Overview

In this role you coordinate international shipments to ensure compliant, timely and cost-efficient delivery of materials and finished goods. You’ll work closely with customers, suppliers and logistics partners to manage documentation, customs and costs. You will support ERP/MRP updates and invoicing while driving continuous improvements in transit times and processes. This is a global logistics role that connects production, finance and customer service to protect delivery quality and compliance. You will be the proactive point of contact for resolving customs and shipment issues, helping the business meet its global delivery goals.

Responsibilities

Coordinate inbound materials and outbound finished goods to align with production and delivery schedules
Book and manage freight across air, sea, road and rail
Track shipments and resolve delays, damage, shortages and customs issues
Prepare and check import/export documentation (invoices, packing lists, airway bills, bills of lading, origin certificates)
Ensure correct application of commodity codes, customs valuations, Incoterms, duties, VAT and tariffs
Maintain export control, sanctions, licensing and rules of origin compliance
Liaise with suppliers, customers, freight forwarders, carriers and customs brokers
Obtain and compare freight quotations, monitor logistics costs
Update ERP/MRP with order, shipment, receipt and dispatch data
Raise sales invoices, credit notes and pro-forma invoices
Support month-end activities and resolve invoicing or shipment discrepancies
Identify opportunities to improve costs, transit times and import/export processes

Key requirements

Previous experience in import/export, shipping, logistics or order-processing
Working knowledge of import/export documentation
Understanding of Incoterms and their cost/risk implications
Experience entering orders and raising invoices using an ERP or similar system
Experience working with customers, suppliers, freight forwarders and customs agents
Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
Proactive approach to following up and resolving issues
