Overview

As a PPA Originator, you will drive the origination, structuring and execution of Power Purchase Agreements across the UK & Ireland and international markets. You work with a commercial team to develop a strong pipeline, build customer relationships, and manage the deal lifecycle from opportunity identification to commercial management. You will analyze electricity markets and pricing dynamics to craft compelling PPA solutions and coordinate due diligence and negotiations. This role supports SSE Renewables’ mission to enable the energy transition through long-term renewable Power Purchase Agreements. Responsibilities

Identify and engage prospective customers to build a robust PPA pipeline
Analyze electricity markets, trends, pricing and regulatory developments to uncover opportunities
Support the structuring of PPAs, evaluating pricing, terms, risk allocation and value
Coordinate due diligence and transaction activities with internal specialists
Support contract handovers and ongoing commercial management throughout an agreement’s life

Key requirements

Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to translate data into insights
Degree, or equivalent, in business, economics, finance, engineering, energy or related discipline
Interest in electricity markets, renewable energy, and commercial transactions
Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
Proactive, organized, with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
