Laboratory Analyst

Overview

In this Laboratory Analyst role at Boulby, you will deliver accurate analytical services and support to internal customers within a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

• Conduct routine sample preparation and analysis
• Perform titration, Ion Chromatography (IC) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) analyses
• Calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
• Support R&D and product development activities
• Prepare weekly and monthly composite samples
• Assist in maintaining ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems
• Monitor laboratory consumables, chemicals and equipment
• Participate in risk assessments and improvement initiatives
• Maintain laboratory records and databases (LIMS)
• Build relationships with operations, geology, environmental, safety and commercial teams

Key requirements

• Degree in STEM (Chemistry preferred)
• A-Level Chemistry
• Experience in a high-throughput analytical laboratory
• Knowledge of titration, IC and XRD
• Understanding of QA/QC and GLP
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and laboratory software systems
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems
• Level 2 Skills for Life (numeracy, literacy and IT)
• COSHH Assessment Training
