Corporate Tax Solicitor

Overview

As an Associate in the corporate tax team, you will manage a mix of transactional support and advisory work for UK and international clients. You’ll handle tax aspects of acquisitions, disposals and reorganisations, and advise on VAT, stamp duty, and cross-border matters. You will draft tax deeds, support EIS/SEIS investments, and help with HMRC filings and investor certificates. The role combines client-facing duties with opportunities to contribute to business development and marketing materials. This is a chance to grow within an established practice handling diverse corporate tax work across sectors.

Responsibilities

• Advise on tax aspects of acquisitions, disposals and restructurings
• Assist with tax clearances and stamp duty issues arising from transactions
• Support VAT and international tax matters, and tax disputes
• Draft and negotiate tax deeds and warranties in corporate transactions
• Advise on eligibility for tax-efficient investment (EIS/SEIS)
• Prepare applications to HMRC and certificates for investors
• Assist with establishing employee share incentive arrangements
• Communicate with clients, take instructions, and manage matters day-to-day
• Contribute to business development and marketing materials

Key requirements

• 2–5 years’ post-qualification experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Client-facing confidence and ability to manage a busy workload
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Good organisational skills, attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
