Employment Solicitor / Associate

Overview

In this role you will support a broad client base across FTSE, housing, charities, universities and public bodies as an Employment Solicitor/Associate. You will handle strategic employment matters, draft policies and contracts, manage tribunal claims, and contribute to the firm’s profile through thought leadership and client events. The position offers exposure to commercial and public sector work within a collaborative, growth‑minded team. You will build long‑term client relationships and develop sector knowledge in a high‑profile practice.

Responsibilities

• Advise high-profile clients on strategic employment matters
• Draft employment contracts, policies, and disciplinary and grievance procedures
• Manage employment tribunal claims from instruction to resolution
• Support complex transactional employment matters
• Handle data subject access requests
• Contribute to the team's profile via thought leadership, seminars and client events
• Develop deep sector knowledge and stay updated on legal developments
• Build long-term client relationships

Key requirements

• Qualified solicitor with up to 5 PQE in employment law
• Exposure to commercial and/or public sector clients (preferred)
• Outstanding academic background
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Commercial awareness
• Genuine passion for employment law
• Strong technical legal skills with attention to detail
