Overview

As Sales Director for Under Water Systems UK, you will shape and deliver the UK sales strategy and drive growth across international export markets. You will lead a high‑performing sales organisation and build senior customer relationships with MoD and industry partners to influence capability needs. You will own strategic opportunities, collaborate with Bid, Capture, Commercial and Account teams, and represent Thales as a trusted partner. This role combines strategic influence with frontline delivery in a critical defence and security domain. You will shape the future of UK underwater systems and contribute to national security.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the UWS UK sales and growth strategy
• Achieve order intake, revenue and market share targets
• Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across MoD, international customers, partners and industry leaders
• Lead pursuit of strategic UK and export opportunities
• Collaborate with Bid, Capture, Commercial and Account teams to secure outcomes
• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing, inclusive sales team
• Represent Thales externally as a trusted strategic partner

Key requirements

• Proven track record of growth in defence, aerospace, security or similar complex sectors
• Experience with government, military or major industrial customers
• Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen
• Ability to influence and build relationships with senior stakeholders
• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
• Experience operating in complex, matrix organisations
