Multi Skilled Operative

Overview

In this role you will operate fixed and mobile plant to support on-time material deliveries and meet production targets. You will work closely with the team to maintain safety, quality, and site housekeeping while supporting maintenance and defect remediation. The role offers training and progression toward supervisory skills within a supportive, inclusive environment. This is a chance to contribute to a major quarry operation and develop across operational and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate fixed and mobile plant and support day-to-day quarry operations
• Collaborate with the team to ensure quality material and on-time deliveries
• Assist Supervisor to meet daily/weekly production targets
• Maintain safety, health, environmental and quality standards
• Follow HSE policies and procedures
• Inspect plant, identify defects, and implement remedial actions
• Assist in plant maintenance and maximise plant availability
• Maintain high standard of site housekeeping

Key requirements

• Experience in an industrial, factory, or similar operative environment
• Good communication skills and willingness to develop operative and supervisory capabilities
• Knowledge of plant operations; quarry or mobile plant experience preferred
• Shovel and dump truck licence – desirable
• Flexible, self-motivated, and able to motivate others
• Good timekeeping and adaptability to unit requirements
• Full UK Driving Licence
• IT literate
• Previous quarry/multi-skilled operative experience seen as beneficial but not essential due to training
