Senior Podcast Producer – The News Agents

Overview

In this Senior Producer role, you’ll shape daily editorial output for a fast-paced UK news podcast, directing episode planning, scripting, and guest coordination. You’ll collaborate with presenters and leadership to deliver timely, distinctive episodes across audio and cross-platform formats. You’ll uphold editorial standards while exploring new episodes and brand initiatives. This is a hands-on role that combines editorial judgement with production excellence to drive audience growth and impact.

Responsibilities

• Shape daily editorial output with strong story angles and timely episodes
• Lead episode production from planning through publication, including scripting, runs, and guest bookings
• Adapt editorial content for audio, video, and social channels to ensure cohesion
• Uphold editorial, legal and compliance standards with accuracy and fairness
• Contribute to the brand through special episodes, series, and new show concepts
• Plan and deliver on-location outside broadcasts with cross-team collaboration
• Provide senior support and deputise for the Executive Producer when needed

Key requirements

• Significant experience producing podcasts, radio, or news content in a fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of UK and US news agenda and ability to identify compelling angles
• Proven ability to script, develop stories, book guests and deliver speech-based content to tight deadlines
• Strong prioritisation, attention to detail and calm, sound judgement under pressure
• Experience collaborating with presenters and senior editorial colleagues and leading when required
• Knowledge of editorial standards
