Accountant

Overview

In this role you will support the finance function of a global fintech business during a 6‑month interim assignment. You will work closely with teams in New York and London to drive accurate monthly closes, manage fixed assets under US GAAP, and provide insightful variance analyses. You will contribute to SOX controls, audit readiness, and global accounting transformation initiatives leveraging automation and reporting tools. This position offers hybrid work and immediate start for a candidate with strong technical reporting and international accounting experience.

Pay / Benefits

Responsibilities

• Support monthly and quarterly close with journal entries, expense accruals, and prepaid amortisations
• Perform P&L and balance sheet variance analyses with explanations for leadership
• Manage fixed assets capitalization, depreciation, and retirement per US GAAP; review capex accounts
• Collaborate with Global Accounts Payable and Accounting teams in NY and London
• Prepare audit schedules and support internal/external audits
• Execute accounting controls in line with SOX and maintain documentation
• Participate in global accounting transformation initiatives, including automation and reporting enhancements (Alteryx, Tableau)
• Provide ad hoc and reporting support

Key requirements

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CA with strong technical reporting background and solid US GAAP experience
• Comfortable operating across multiple entities with complex reporting requirements
• Immediate availability or 1 week notice
• Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration skills
