HR Manager

Overview

In this HR Manager role, you will own day-to-day HR across multiple UK sites, focusing on employee relations and operational support. You will coach managers, ensure compliance with UK employment law, and manage the full employee lifecycle from recruitment to leavers. You’ll lead HR system implementation and support the move to outsourced payroll, while guiding an HR Administrator and collaborating with the HR Director and L&D. This is a hands-on, business-facing role with clear ownership and impact in a growing international business.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day HR and employee relations across multiple UK sites, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability and performance matters
• Provide practical, commercially-focused advice and coaching to managers while ensuring UK employment law compliance
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, leavers and maintain accurate HR records; support benefits and payroll processes
• Lead in the implementation of a new HR system and transition to outsourced payroll
• Manage an HR Administrator and collaborate with the HR Director and Learning & Development on performance management and people initiatives

Key requirements

• Strong UK generalist HR experience with excellent employee relations knowledge
• Up-to-date UK employment law expertise
• Pragmatic, personable and confident with ability to build relationships and provide clear advice
• Experience in a multi-site or operational environment; HR system implementation or outsourced payroll is advantageous
• Experience as HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor
• Ability to work closely with managers and cross-functional teams
