Senior Policy and Delivery Advisor - Space and Innovation

Overview

In this role, you will lead policy and delivery on innovative space and satellite spectrum access, coordinating cross‑functional teams to assess requests and issue authorisations. You will engage with space stakeholders and shape licensing processes, balancing technical and regulatory considerations. The role offers exposure to high‑impact spectrum policy in a dynamic, regulatory context, contributing to UK communications resilience and growth. You will work with economists, lawyers and engineers to deliver robust, timely policy solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end licensing processes for innovative technologies, coordinating with technical colleagues, economists and lawyers
• Develop and draft policy consultations and decisions where relevant
• Coordinate engagement with space stakeholders and manage Spectrum Group relationships
• Enhance processes to simplify applications for applicants and Ofcom
• Communicate policy solutions clearly to senior stakeholders, both written and verbal
• Collaborate with Ofcom teams (policy, authorisation, international) to align approaches and communications
• Identify and address policy issues through detailed, often technical, analysis
• Project manage and deliver high‑quality outputs on tight deadlines

Key requirements

• Experience in project management or policy development in government, regulation or related sector
• Ability to lead teams and manage priorities while delivering on time
• Strong policy analysis skills and clear written/oral communication
• Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and explain complex issues simply
• Comfort working with economists, lawyers and engineers to assess requests
