Overview

In this role you will manage end-to-end costs for renewable energy projects in Yorkshire, including solar and BESS upgrades, with project values from 10k to 2.2M. You’ll support commercial delivery, develop cost plans, and monitor budgets to drive profitable project outcomes. You’ll work with NEC and FIDIC contracts, supporting cross-functional teams and suppliers to mitigate cost risk. This is a hands-on position with visibility into the full project lifecycle and opportunities to influence financial performance in energy infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Support the commercial delivery of renewable energy, solar and BESS projects
Manage project costs from estimating and tendering through final account
Prepare cost plans, valuations, forecasts and commercial reports
Monitor project expenditure, budgets and financial performance
Work with NEC and FIDIC contract forms
Provide commercial support to project teams, subcontractors and suppliers
Identify cost risks and support commercial decision-making
Collaborate with the Graduate Engineer and Commercial Director

Key requirements

Understanding of quantity surveying and commercial management principles
Experience supporting construction, engineering, energy or infrastructure projects
Knowledge of NEC and FIDIC contracts
Ability to manage project costs from commencement through to completion
Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
Good communication and negotiation abilities
Excellent attention to detail and organised approach to work
Relevant degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in quantity surveying, commercial management, engineering or a related discipline
