Associate Planner

Overview

As an Associate Planner, you will lead planning advice across a diverse mix of public and private sector projects in the North West. You’ll work with the Land, Development & Planning teams to shape town centre regeneration, masterplanning, planning applications, and policy work. The role offers day-one client exposure, autonomy to lead projects, and mentorship for junior colleagues within a growing team. This is a chance to contribute to significant regeneration and development initiatives in Manchester and beyond. Responsibilities

• Lead planning advice across a diverse project portfolio
• Manage planning projects from inception to delivery
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams within Cushman & Wakefield
• Engage stakeholders and manage client relationships
• Support town centre regeneration, masterplanning, and policy initiatives
• Prepare reports, planning applications, and appeals
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to team growth
• Represent the firm in client meetings and public consultations

Key requirements

• MRTPI qualification
• Strong consultancy or client-side planning experience
• Experience managing planning projects end-to-end
• Excellent report writing and communication skills
• Commercial awareness and ability to build lasting client relationships
• Collaborative approach and contribution to business growth
• Experience with public and private sector clients is advantageous but not essential
