Specialty Claims Underwriter

Overview

In this role you will manage a large portfolio of cyber and other lines of business claims, from notification to conclusion, working with clients, brokers and external partners. You’ll balance direct claims handling with oversight of TPAs and experts, contributing to continuous improvement of the claims operation. You’ll collaborate closely with underwriters to support business growth and product development. This is a customer‑centric, cross‑location role that offers variety, visibility and meaningful impact in a leading insurance brand.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and manage claims across multiple lines (cyber, entertainment, personal accident, event cancellation) from initial notification to closure
• Directly handle claims and oversee TPAs/coverholders
• Select and manage experts (lawyers, loss adjusters, investigators)
• Negotiate with clients, brokers, coverholders and vendors
• Develop strong commercial relationships with clients and brokers
• Proactively manage a large claims portfolio
• Collaborate with underwriters to win/retain business and shape products
• Identify opportunities to improve claims processes and contribute to continuous improvement
