Product Manager (Mortgages)

Overview

As Product Manager for Retail Mortgages, you will own the outcomes across the mortgage lifecycle. You will define what good looks like for brokers, customers and underwriters, collaborating with engineering and data to deliver real-time decisions and improved journeys. You’ll balance data-driven insights with practical judgment to simplify complexity and accelerate underwriting. This role sits at the intersection of fintech-enabled lending and regulatory compliance, offering tangible impact as the product evolves.

Responsibilities

• Own outcomes across the Retail Mortgages journey (originations to broker experience)
• Improve broker experience with partners to shorten application-to-offer cycle
• Implement instant decisions by leveraging source data and AI judiciously
• Enhance underwriting speed and consistency for complex cases (portfolio landlords, limited company BTL, non-standard income)
• Ensure regulatory outcomes (MCOB, Consumer Duty, affordability) as platform evolves
• Translate customer and operational insights into clear opportunities and bets
• Make ecosystem decisions on sourcing systems, valuation providers and credit reference agencies
• Measure performance using data to validate outcomes and inform next steps

Key requirements

• Strong product management experience across the full lifecycle
• Fintech/finance experience desirable
• Ability to simplify complexity and design customer-centred solutions
