Commercial Executive - Motor Claims

Overview

As a Commercial Executive for Motor Claims, you will support the claims strategy and lead initiatives to counter claims inflation. You will work with cross-functional teams to turn data and market insights into commercial actions that improve performance. The role focuses on developing MI, spotting trends, and aligning stakeholders to drive changes in our claims outcomes. This is a data-led, collaborative position within a fast-growing insurer that values the 4Cs culture. You will help shape the commercial trading insight that underpins Hastings Direct’s strategic growth.

Responsibilities

• Support the Commercial Manager to deliver claims strategy and initiatives
• Own key parts of commercial initiatives as required
• Identify and develop insights into inflationary elements of the claims book through data and market analysis
• Engage with internal and external experts to understand factors influencing claims
• Create and monitor MI with multiple teams and external suppliers, tracking claims performance and emerging trends
• Develop knowledge of market movements and mitigate potential impacts on processes and performance
• Collaborate with other project teams on initiatives affecting the claims book and contribute to project success

Key requirements

• Strong analytical skills to interpret claims data and provide actionable insights
• Data visualization abilities using Excel or PowerBI
• Experience in customer claims management; underwriting/pricing segmentation experience is advantageous
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to support change within a matrix organisation
