Team Manager – Operations

Overview

In this role you will lead operational activities within budget, overseeing both employees and contractors across emergency, repair, replacement, connections and competency processes. You will ensure a safe, efficient service to customers and drive performance improvements through innovation, with a strong field-based, on-site focus. You contribute to SGN’s mission of safe and warm energy delivery while supporting a net-zero energy agenda and a diverse, inclusive workplace.

Responsibilities

• Manage operational activities within budget allocations
• Oversee SGN employees and contractors across all operational activities (Emergency, Repair, Replacement, Connections & Competency)
• Provide a safe, efficient and effective service to customers
• Manage performance and drive improvements through innovation
• Be primarily field-based to drive team performance on-site

Key requirements

• Extensive knowledge of the gas industry, legislation, and health and safety policies and procedures
• Highly motivated with a flexible and positive approach
• Strong leadership, organisational, diagnostic and problem-solving skills; able to act on own initiative
• Effective communication at all levels, within and beyond the team
• Commitment to safety and coaching/leadership
• Willing to go the extra mile during high workloads and incidents
• Full clean UK Driving Licence essential for the role
• Experience in managing both employees and contractors in field operations
