Overview

As Product Manager for the Payward payments platform, you own the vision and roadmap for the shared backend and internal integration surfaces. You’ll translate diverse client needs into a sequenced plan, collaborating with engineering to deliver high-impact milestones. Your role shapes end-to-end client experiences, enabling rapid onboarding and go-live across Payward’s rails. You’ll partner across banking, compliance, and partnerships to scale multi-entity integrations while tracking platform success metrics. This is a hands-on opportunity to influence a global, multi-tenant payments infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the platform vision and roadmap for the Payward payments platform (backend, hosted pages, SDKs, embedded components, direct APIs)
  • Capture and map internal client requirements to evolve capabilities across use cases
  • Collaborate with engineering to convert vision into a sequenced, high-impact roadmap with measurable milestones
  • Prioritize competing client needs and communicate trade-offs with clear rationale
  • Shape the client experience from initial discussion to go-live to enable self-serve adoption
  • Coordinate with banking and partnerships teams to ensure new PSP/bank integrations scale across Payward
  • Incorporate compliance, risk, and legal requirements from multiple jurisdictions into the roadmap early
  • Define and monitor platform success metrics such as time-to-launch, time-to-go-live, rail availability, and payment success rates

Key requirements

  • 5+ years in product management, preferably in platform/API/infrastructure with internal or developer customers
  • Working knowledge of payments flows: pay-ins/payments, PSPs, acquirers, bank rails (ACH, SEPA, Faster Payments, SWIFT, local methods)
  • Strong technical fluency: read RFCs, challenge architecture decisions, and write respected API specs
  • Experience shipping developer-facing products (APIs, SDKs, embeddable UI)
  • Clear, structured writing for product, compliance, and business stakeholders
  • Stakeholder management across multiple priorities and alignment without direct authority
  • Comfort using data to set goals and measure platform adoption and performance
  • stakeholder management
  • clear written communication
  • data-driven decision making
  • API design and documentation
  • developer-facing product delivery (APIs, SDKs, embedded components)
  • reading and challenging RFCs/architectures
