Assistant Manager

Overview

In this role you partner with the Shop Manager to drive store performance, deliver an engaging customer experience, and bring The Body Shop’s activist, purpose-driven mission to life. You lead a collaborative team, solve problems with available resources, and use data to steer sales and people development. You’ll help grow customer loyalty and support campaigns and activism that define the brand. This role offers hands-on leadership in a mission-driven retail environment with opportunities to shape local impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead and actively contribute within a motivated team to meet customer needs
• Shape a customer-focused store experience through campaigns, activism and product storytelling
• Proactively solve problems using available resources
• Model flexible, responsible leadership and effective communication
• Develop customer loyalty to strengthen The Body Shop brand
• Collaborate with the Shop Manager to achieve sales and performance targets
• Manage stock, monitor changes, and support merchandising and supply
• Use KPI data to inform commercial decisions and drive team performance
• Identify and develop high-potential team members to achieve goals
• Express interest in learning about the beauty market, competitors and products

Key requirements

• Experience in a customer-facing role
• People leadership and team development experience
• Ability to meet sales and performance targets with strong planning and organizing skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a feedback culture
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience using data (KPIs) to inform decisions (preferred)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Flexible to work hours including holidays, nights, and weekends; Sunday–Saturday availability
