In this internship, you support the Data & Information Protection team to manage data privacy obligations and information protection across the business. You will help monitor risks, contribute to policy updates, and assist with training and awareness programmes. You’ll collaborate with multiple units to embed privacy by design and ensure standards are followed. This placement offers hands-on exposure to GDPR, DPA 2018, PECR, and BMW Group privacy frameworks. You’ll work in a collaborative, learning-focused environment with real responsibilities from day one.

Responsibilities
Risk & Compliance Oversight: monitor data protection risks and keep policies up to date
Training & Awareness: help develop and deliver internal communications and training
Incident & Breach Management: assist in identifying, recording, and mitigating incidents
Privacy by Design: collaborate with departments to embed privacy by design across processes
BMW Group Standards Implementation: support rollout and adherence to standards
Key requirements
pursuing a degree in Business, Law, IT, Marketing or related field (2.2 or above)
interest in data protection and knowledge of GDPR, DPA 2018, PECR
excellent communication skills for awareness and training
analytical mindset to oversee risks and mitigation
ability to work collaboratively with varied business units and technical teams
proactive attitude toward learning and information security measures
